McCandlish Lillard seeks an experienced attorney, either a mid-to-senior level associate (4 – 5 years or more of experience) or a principal, to help grow the firm’s family law/domestic relations practice. The attorney could be located in the firm’s Fairfax or Leesburg offices, depending on circumstances. 

Candidates should have experience with complex divorce litigation, agreement drafting, and a broad range of family law issues.  The right person must enjoy working with clients, and be first-chair ready.  Training in collaborative divorce would be a plus, but is not required. 

Prospective principals must bring much, if not all, of their own business.  Associates must bring some of their own business. Familiarity with northern Virginia court procedures is necessary. 

Applicants must have strong analytical abilities, sensitivity to client needs, a love of and skill at problem-solving, excellent writing and communications skills, and must work well with clients and colleagues.
