McCandlish Lillard Overall Regional Winner in 9th Annual Legal Food Frenzy

For Immediate Release

Fairfax/Leesburg, Va., May 1, 2015 — The law firm of McCandlish Lillard is pleased to announce that it is the Overall Winner for the Northern Virginia region in this year’s 2015 Legal Food Frenzy competition.  McCandlish’s efforts resulted in a first place finish in the medium-sized law firm category of the Northern Virginia region, as well as overall, in this food drive for the benefit of the Capital Area Food Bank.

The Firm surpassed its initial goal of $5,000, raising approximately $9,000 and 450 pounds of food over the course of the two-week competition.  Efforts were led by two of McCandlish Lillard’s associates, Rachael Ander and Bethany Ingersoll, along with their co-captains, Tammy Lyons and Lourie Thornton, and included hosting food events and friendly competitions to raise awareness, food and funds. Food for the events was generously donated by Metro 29 Diner (4711 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA), Einstein Bros. Bagels (9490 Main Street, Fairfax, VA), and Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant (11219 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA).

Legal Food Frenzy is a food and fund drive among all Virginia law firms who choose to participate, and was created in 2007 by the Office of the Attorney General, The Young Lawyers Division of The Virginia Bar Association, and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, to aid the nearly 1.2 million Virginians who are food insecure. While McCandlish Lillard has previously placed second and third in the medium-sized law firm category for the Northern Virginia region, this year marks the first year the Firm has been the regional or the Overall Winner, beating out participants in all categories, including large-sized firms.

McCandlish Lillard has 23 attorneys, with offices in Fairfax and Leesburg. For more information regarding the firm, please call 703-273-2288, or visit its web site at www.mccandlishlawyers.com.
