Two New Attorneys Join McCandlish

McCandlish Lillard is pleased to announce that the Firm recently has added two new attorneys. Laura P. Leibowitz, an attorney with over two decades of legal experience, has joined the Firm’s Litigation group as Counsel, and will work primarily from our Leesburg office. Sotia M. Kyriacou has joined as an associate in the Firm’s Corporate, Business and Real Estate Group, and will work mostly from our Fairfax office.

Laura devotes her practice to litigation of business torts, contract disputes, employment issues, real property disputes, community associations, and fiduciary issues, including will contests and breaches of fiduciary duty claims. Early in her career, Laura served as a prosecutor in the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. She then spent fifteen years in private practice with a particular focus on domestic relations and criminal defense. More recently, Laura served as a staff attorney in the Loudoun County Circuit Court. She is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, and received her J.D. from West Virginia University.

Sotia’s practice will focus on business and corporate organizational and transactional matters, as well as on commercial real estate, land use, and community association issues. Her prior experience includes handling litigation, governance matters, member disputes, contract negotiation, and covenant enforcement on behalf of community association clients throughout Virginia and the District of Columbia. Sotia also has experience assisting small and large commercial clients navigate the complexities involving the sale and leasing of commercial real properties. She is a magna cum laude graduate of American University, and received her J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law.
