Come have a ball at Hound Dog Day – a FREE community event hosted by McCandlish Lillard to raise awareness and funds for four local dog rescue groups.
Hound Dog Day was conceived by Jesse B. Wilson, III, a former principal of McCandlish Lillard, as a summertime counterpart to Groundhog Day. The “legend” says that if a hound dog walks across the front porch and stops for a drink from his water bowl, summer will continue for six more weeks; if not, fall will come early. McCandlish Lillard attorneys and staff have celebrated this annual “holiday” for over ten years, and this is the first year that the firm is publicly celebrating Hound Dog Day as a community event to support local dog rescue groups.
You’re invited to bring your friends, family and leashed dog(s) to share in this fun family adventure. Activities will include live music, strolling entertainment, dog-friendly boat rides and food provided by specialty food trucks. Dog services and supplies will be available from a variety of exhibitors. You can also meet dogs available for adoption and learn more about the process from volunteers and staff from the four beneficiaries of the event: Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA), Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, Mutt Love Rescue and The Shiloh Project.
